Hi Niklas,

Mac is retired, I'll be assisting you.

What version driver are you running?
What Operating System are you using now?
Are you aware of any changes in your environment that occurred prior to this not working?
Are you using MAC Mode or IP Mode for communication between the driver and the DeviceMaster?
If MAC Mode, switch to IP Mode and see if the symptoms change.

Thanks,
Kurt

Morning and thank you Kurt for a fast replay!

This is on Port Version 4.08
SocketServer 8.00 on the DM.

Windows Server 2003

We hade a firewall incident where we went from FW1 to FW2, and then Back to FW1. (they are clusterd)

IP Mode is used PortVision has conntact with the Devicemaster, but we cant access the RS-232 port.

Hi,

If you are using the Driver / Com Ports and the Software Version says SocketServer, then there is a problem communicating via the driver.

If the driver were communicating, you would see NS-Link for software version in PortVision.

1. Ensure your firewall is allowing port 4606 UDP/TCP traffic to pass both ways
2. I have some basic troubleshooting steps here:
http://downloads.comtrol.com/contribs/devicemaster/help_file s/Basic%20Device%20Master%20Troubleshooting.pdf

3. Follow the steps and let me know which step you have an issue with.

Kurt

I also tried to find a solution on the official website, but it's all vague and I can't figure out how to put the pieces together so that the output function is complete and not shared. in general, there are many more

Hi Leasaseot,

I'm not sure what you mean by "the output function is complete and not shared". Can you elaborate?

Thanks,
Kurt
