I'm wanting to use the Comtrol 1-port device to be able to communicate with a serial device that will be in the field. If the unit is capable of this, how do I configure the unit to communicate with a field device. The device will be installed in a school zone flasher on the street. The RTS unit will be connected to a time clock unit that has a serial port. My customer wants to use their existing city wide network to access their school zone clocks vs. cellular modems which can be pricey. The end user wants to use the desktop software (installed on PC in their Traffic Operations Building) that will communicate with their field time clocks.

Yes, the DeviceMaster is capable of this. It can communicate via a Com Port on the PC or via TCP/IP Sockets.
