Not really sure how to explain this, but we've got a bunch of different serial modems to communicate with alarm system panels. The software to communicate always works when connected directly to a wired COM port, but ONCE IN A WHILE using the exact same modem through the DM RTS 8-Port device, communication fails. Not all the time, it's just occasionally unreliable and moving that modem to a wired port on the same computer with the same software always works.

These are old Hayes 2400 style modems. Some are Hayes, some are StarComm, and a couple other types. Just curious if there's anything we can do to make the virtual com ports more reliable? All of the settings as far as I can tell are equal to the wired ports. Not sure what else really to check?
