We have the RocketPort 32-Port 30060-1 interface with RocketPort Express 30138-7 32 port interface card.
The problem:
- the interface physical ports 1 through 16 map to com ports 17 through 32.
- the interface physical ports 17 through 32 map to com ports 01 through 16.
Everything works correctly with the application like this despite the port interfaces being reversed.

It would seem as though the Y cable is mislabeled. I tried switching the Y cables ends to the opposite ports on the interface
and indeed everything lines up and kind of worked for while. (i.e. the cable marked ports 1-16 plugged into the port for 17-32).

However, my application repeatedly got errors when opening the first port (Win32 error ERROR_ACCESS_DENIED #5) even after rebooting.
I had to uninstall and reinstall the RocketPort driver and then it began to work with that configuration. But began locking the port again
after the next reboot.

To correct it, I had to plug the cables in as they are labelled in the original configuration and reinstall the drivers again. And after a complete power-off
and restart it seems to be working reliably again but just with the port 17 ==> port 1 (comm3).

I do not have windows defender nor any antivirus running, no firewalls. It's a bare bones Windows 10 Enterprise LTSB.

Thanks, any help would be appreciated.

Hi,

Would you be able to provide us the cable part number? It appears you may have received a mislabeled cable.

Thanks,
Kurt

The number on the connector is: 4000208 D 02 16
Other numbers on the cable: E119932-T, AWM 20276, VW-1 copartner

The bad cable is the short one that comes with the interface card.
The long Y-cable that comes with the RJ-45 interface board works correctly.

We purchased two 32 port units and two PCIe cards and both of the shorter cables are mislabeled (hard label that is embedded in the connector and the printed white label). You may want to look into what is happening.

Hi,

Yes, we found out about a mislabeled batch of these not long ago. The problem has been addressed.
If you would like to exchange your cables for another set labelled correctly, let me know.
