Hi,

I can read in the description of Comtrol RocketPort Express PCI-e 32 port 30138-7 that there is a limit of 4 cards per system. Why is that? How is it implemented? Is there a jumper on board that defines the address?

I'm interested as I might need to add more than 4 cards to one system (currently inspecting if I can add them to a 16xPCIe expansion box), as I need to create a big system that interacts and simulates multiple serials to multiple sub-systems in the same time.

Thank you!

Hi LittleM@n,

I'll need to find out from our hardware people. I'll get back to you on that.

Thanks,
Kurt

At one time the software supported up to four 32 port boards per OS

Now, the only limiting factor that I'm aware of is the maximum number of 256
serial ports per installation of Windows.

As long as the users don't violate that rule, it should be OK.

Make sure the power supply can handle the power draw.

Kurt
